I had tried a couple of adapters prior to this one and none of them worked. This works like a charm. Good fast shipping as well. Here's a hint: first plug in adapter to headphones and then plug into phone, otherwise if you plug in adapter to phone first then you will get mono audio.

First got the one from RadioShack, which did not work. This one works great, and has a better design where it attaches to the phone, it doesnt stick way out of the phone like the Radio Shack one does. I used Sony Stereo headphones with this and it works no matter what I plug into what first. This site shipped it right away too, which was a nice plus. Thanks BBerry.

A trick to get this to work is required. You MUST connect your headset to the adapter BEFORE connecting it the Pearl.

Pros:	Does what I wanted
Cons:	Need to install headphones to adapater before plugging

Works great in my 8820. But as others have noted, you have to plug the headphones into the adapter before plugging the adapter into the Palm.

Cons:	have to be careful how it is inserted

When I first tried this out the volume was so low it was unusable. I was quite irritated. So I fiddled with it and found that if I back the adapter out of the phone just a little the volume comes out perfectly, and in stereo. So if it isnt working for you, try to pull it out of the phone just a little.

it is true you must plug headphones into adapter first, then into pearl, in order to get stereo. this worked well for me however i also have an auxiliary audio input in my car and i can only get mono with this usage. i've used other smart devices in my car to play MP3's ... disappointed this adapter can't provide stereo output in my car. the pearl audio jack is definitely touchy

Cons:	Only Mono, left channel only

Contacted RIM to ask them what they recommended. All they had to say that as a public company, they are not permitted to discuss this issue with me. What a weazel answer. Bottomline is that the BB product is marketed as an MP3 player, but they dont truly support this application. This product will at least allow you to hear what ever it is you want to hear from one channel. I did not find the sequence of what was plugged in first (adapter or BB) as having any affect on my desire to hear stereo output.

I had purchased 2 separate jacks from another store, hopeing they would work, neither of which did. I just last week bought this adapter for the 8100 audio. When you push the 1/8 brand new Sony headphones into the jack I get mono, if I pull half way out I get stereo. They work just like the Radio Shaq ones.

I have a Blackberry Pearl. This adapter does not work...only getting mono. Standard Stereo headset does not work with this adapter.I received this adapter as a gift so I am very disappointed. Do not recommend...waste of money & time trying to get this adapter to work.

Does not give stereo output...i spent freaking 20 bucks on it and i still get mono..I have tried different headphones...dont buy this one...it works with someone and nothing else for people like me...i tried the trick they posted here...no use...
